All projects, regardless of the nature of the work performed, are billed at the hourly studio rate of $50.00 per hour. Time is tracked in 1/10th hour increments, billed to the highest increment.

Estimates:

Graphic design is not a manufacturing process where the cost of each part and the time needed for assembly can be precisely calculated. Design is an on-going and evolving process that cannot be easily quantifed. Estimates given are restricted to time and effort required to produce the first proof that meets the stated design criteria as we understand them. Changes, alterations, adjustments and new exploration beyond the first proof will be billed at the hourly studio rate.

Initiation Fees:

Terrapin Design does not ordinarily charge upfront fees to initiate a project. However, we reserve the right to do so. Initiation fees are credited agains the final invoice. Initiation fees are not refundable.

Kill Fees:

Terrapin Design may elect to charge a minimum $100 or 50% of Estimate, whichever is higher, Kill Fee applicable to projects that are terminated by the client before completion.

Payment:

Full payment for studio time, vendor services and materials is due at completion of the project unless other arrangements are made in advance. No files, disks or other items will be released to the client or any vendors until payment has been recieved.

For projects the extend beyond thirty days, Terrapin Design may elect to bill the project either monthly or as each proof copy is released to the client.

Payment by cash or check is accepted. We are not credit card enabled. There is a $50 fee for returned checks.

Remote Printing:

Terrapin Design prefers to use local printers and vendors for all projects. We have on-going, long-term relationsips with many area firms. However, the client may prefer to use vendors of their own choosing, including vendors found on the web.

Terrapin Design will do everything we can to meet the specifications of these vendors, or in the absence of specification, use our best judgement and experience to provide the files they need. However, Terrapin Design assumes no responsibility or liability for the final product provided by vendors we do not choose. Under no circumstances will a PDF or other file be released to these vendors until full payment has been made to Terrapin Design for work performed.

Ownership:

Terrapin Design retains ownership and copyrights to the native application files for all projects. The client is entitled to a PDF file or other file suitable for completion of the project. All of the files using InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Flash and any other native applications are the sole property of Terrapin Design, and release of these files to anyone is solely at our discretion.
