Pricing

We believe in keeping things simple. An hour of our time doing one thing is no more or less valuable than an hour spent doing something else. So we did away with our multi-tiered pricing structure and settled on one number: $50 per hour. This rate covers everything we do-- print design, web design, CD design, photography, production, conferences, travel time, etc. For rush projects, there is 100% surcharge ($100 per hour). For those who prefer to look over our shoulders while we work, the surcharge is 200% ($150 per hour).

Payment

For all projects, payment is due when the project is completed unless other arrangements are made in advance. In some cases payment may be required as the various phases of the project are completed. For some services, such as printing or where out-of-pocket expenses are involved, we may require payment in advance.

Acceptance of any project, or part of a project, by the client constitutes an agreement to compensate Terrapin Design for all work performed. Invoices that are unpaid after 30 days may be turned over to a professional collection agency for settlement.

Estimates

Terrapin Design will provide estimates for any project. These estimates are not binding unless ALL of the materials and specifications for a project are submitted to use for review. Estimates given by us are for design and production time up to the submission of the first proof to the client. Beyond that, the hourly studio rate applies. Spec Work and Initiation Fees

Terrapin Design does not usually do design or production work on spec. For some types of design work, such as logos, an initiation fee may be required. This fee is not refudable under any circumstances.

Copyright

Terrapin Design retains ownership of all computer files, photography, illustration, designs, logos or the products of any other form of design or production performed by us. The use of these physical materials or intellectual property is prohibited unless written permission is obtained from Terrapin Design. Transferral of these rights to any other party is subject to additional fees, and transferral of any of these rights requires written agreements.

Under no circumstances will any computer files, photographs, artwork or any other materials be released to any client or their agents until all invoices have been paid in full.
